Nice work! In two weeks I did my 3 minute 10 seconds “The Story of Thanksgiving” animation–including script, storyboard, voice overs, art, animation and compositing.

I know “tweening” (I hate that word haha) is kind of poopoo’d by some people because it can make your animation look floaty but it’s a great TOOL if used correctly and if you apply traditional principles behind them. I actually use a combination of both techniques. I do all of my poses (including antics, overshoots, head bobbles etc.) using the stop motion keyframes just to make sure my poses are strong and my timing works.

Then I switch to interpolated (ie “tweened”) keyframes and tweak my timing and poses further. Then I go in and add in all my ease-ins and ease outs and refine the motion so I get exactly what I want without all the extra work of inbetweening by hand.

OK, got it. The transparency layer has to be “unfolded” first, by clicking on the plus sign in the layer…THEN there is a value adjustment for the transparency values that can be set to key frames. That probably confuses a lot of people, since without finding that place to input the values, there is only one setting for the transparency effect that disappears when I set a keyframe.

In pro, the field where you put in transparency values, is not there. You clicked an arrow to the right of your layer name, but when I click that arrow, i just see a blank field. I can change transparency values inside of the effect module itself, but then it sets a single value for the entire layer. Please help.

The place where you set the transparency values (to the right of the layer names) isn’t there. I click the arrow that supposedly opens up that menu, but it’s just an empty field.
